For nearly two decades, CDXZipStream has lived inside Excel on Windows. That's about to change. This September, we're expecting to roll out the next generation of CDXZipStream: a cloud-backed service that keeps every function you rely on today, but frees them from a single spreadsheet on a single operating system. The same ZIP, address, distance, and demographic lookups you use now will be available in Excel (Windows, Mac, and the web), Google Sheets, and LibreOffice Calc — all sharing one account, one data source, and one usage history.
We're also moving beyond spreadsheets entirely. The new platform speaks MCP (Model Context Protocol), which means Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants can call CDXZipStream directly. Ask an AI to enrich a customer list, validate addresses in bulk, or drive-time-score a batch of leads — and it will use your CDXZipStream account to do it, with the same accuracy you already trust in Excel.
What this means for you: customers who purchased CDXZipStream in the last 12 months or hold an active maintenance agreement will receive a free account on the new platform when it launches — no action required. We'll email credentials and a short getting-started guide as accounts roll out in September. Your existing Windows add-in will keep working; the new platform is additive.
A note for longtime customers. Purchased CDXZipStream more than a year ago and let your maintenance lapse? Reinstate it before the September launch and you'll be included in the free next-gen account rollout automatically. After launch, access to the new platform will only be available through a new subscription — so this is the simplest, lowest-cost way to carry your existing investment forward.
