Many users may not be aware that in addition to 5 digit Zip Code functionality CDXZipStream has a built-in formulas for Zip+4 address correction. This will allow you to get an exact 9 digit zip code for any US address, correct errors and provide a USPS standardized output. This feature is available in all versions of CDXZipStream.
The CDXZip4 function is accessed by right-clicking on any cell in your worksheet, then clicking on “CDXZipStream Functions”, selecting “CDXGeodata functions” followed by “Insert CDXZip4 function”. After doing this the following dialog will appear.
The CDXZip4 function can work with single or multil-line addresses. Simply specify the address text or cell location for your data. If you specify the first cell in a list, you can simply copy your formula down the list or use the “AutoCopy” functionality to return Zip+4 data for multiple addresses.
Requests are checked against a USPS database to determine the correct format and if it is deliverable. Addresses not validated with return “Unknown or Invalid Address”. The results should closely match the individual results returned at the USPS site
To gain access to this functionality you must have a CDXGeoData API Key Tokens are used to access CDXGeoData with different levels for each service request. This Zip+4 address verification will require 2 tokens per request. A single key can be used for all the licenses in your account as it is licensed by requests and not users. The API key can be entered using the CDXZipStream “Settings” menu option in Excel.
Licensed CDXZipStream users can apply for a free CDXGeodata development API key with 1000 tokens per month at the following web page. The development key will reset each month but will not roll-over unused requests. For higher usage levels and commercial use blocks of additional token requests can be purchased at this link. The tokens are available for up to one year after purchase.
